Learning the Ropes

I'll continue this later because I want to go take a shower & lie down a minute. But I know that there are people out there reading this for information and I love you for it. I'll edit & expand on this later.

For now: everything went fine with the saline sonogram & trial transfer. Dr. Perloe explained the tools & procedures as we went through each step. It took about 15 minutes. Everything looked "normal" which is a big deal for someone who's been historically abnormal.

Brett & I learned all about the jabs and sticks that we'll have to do. It's been a very long morning.

The Back Story

Brett and I have been married since November 2004. We met when we were 19, gave it an early try (but it didn't work out) and started dating (for real, this time) in 2001 when I moved back here from New Orleans.

I was diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovaries) in late 2001. When we decided to start trying to conceive (TTC) in 2005, we knew it was going to be difficult. Our biggest clue was that my doctor put us on Clomid from the start. We haven't ever had a very hard time getting pregnant. We've been pregnant 6 times! With the exception of the most recent loss, they've all been at 7 weeks or earlier. Two of our losses were even before the doctor could confirm the pregnancies! Our last pregnancy lasted until the 10th week. This time, we were under the care of a specialist. He was able to get some answers about our losses.

We began our first round of in vitro treatments in April.

This is the story of how we're going to get our Miracle Baby.
